When either the upper or lower oven heating element stops working it is time change it out. This is a simple task and here is how to do this job.
First turn the oven circuit breaker off at the electrical panel. Then remove the oven racks to gain you some working room. Most elements just mount right to the inside back wall of the oven with small screws. Usually a phillips screwdriver will do the trick.
Just back out the screws and the element goes into two holes in the back of the oven. Just pull the element straight out towards you working the electrical connections through the two holes toward you. There will be two wires, one on each side that will come through the holes and be hooked to the element with crimp lugs. Just unplug the two lugs from the element.
If you already have your new element just plug the two wires back in and work the element back through the two holes and replace the screws. Turn the power back on and check to make sure the element works and you are finished.
