There are many types of light fixtures on the market today but most have similar mounting procedures. The most common for fixtures that mount directly to the ceiling take a mounting bracket that attaches to the ceiling box and then has two screws that screw into the bracket.
Depending on the number of sockets the fixture has will determine how many wires must be connected to the house wiring. Hence, 3 sockets will have 3 whites and 3 blacks and 1 green or bare copper wire which is the ground wire.
The 3 white wires will go together and attach to the house white wire. The 3 blacks will tie to the house black wire. And the green or bare will hook to the bare house wire.
Find the two holes in the light fixture that will align with the two screws in the mounting bracket and hold the fixture up to the ceiling to align them. Once the screws come through the two holes in the fixture just turn the entire fixture a little and then tighten up the two screws.
Install the bulbs and the globe.
Always turn the power off at the breaker or fuse when working with electricity.
